Historiographic information in one place
Historiographical information in one place.
Abstract: In this editorial, we announce the creation of the “Bibliographical Information” section and invite readers to contribute by pointing out errors in our work and suggesting new products to be featured, such as history books available in free digital archives.
Dear readers of Revista Crítica Historiográfica,
Starting with this edition, we inaugurated the “Bibliographic information” section. This is still a provisional name, within the instability that marks academic publications in digital support, in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The purpose of the section is the same as that which governed magazines of the genre for three centuries: to facilitate the circulation of information produced by academics in a short time and with the greatest possible spatial coverage.
It is not necessary to list the various attempts to integrate professionals in their double condition of readers and producers of historiography, in the 19th and 20th centuries, in Brazil. Just remember, for example, the successful initiatives of the Revista do Instituto Histórico e Geográfica Brasileiro and the Bibliografia Histórica magazine (edited by the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas).
With the digital resources available on the web and the hegemonic conversion of history journals into electronic journals, we can already test new proposals for integration between and within journals and historians.
It is to this task that we engage from now on. In accordance with the Resenha Crítica blog, the largest repository of its kind in History in Latin America, we will monthly publish the list of Ibero-American History journals that have released new issues in the period with the respective titles of the reviewed books and titles of dossiers of articles published , accompanied by brief and synthetic descriptions of these textual genres.
Going forward, depending on the demand and interest of readers, we plan to publicize all the books released that make their files available for free on the web.
The editorial team of Crítica Historiográfica thanks all readers and contributors for their support and dedication to our journal. We invite everyone to contribute to this new initiative, pointing out errors and suggesting titles not included in our journal.
Yours sincerely,
The Editors
